Rania and Warren Rosborough
Rani and Warren have four children from grammar school to high school age. Their children have spent several years attending public and private schools, and have been homeschooled during recent years. Rani completed her secondary education at a private high school in Washington, D.C., where she was born and raised. She obtained B.A. and M.D. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Howard University School of Medicine, respectively, and has been practicing internal medicine and wound care for the past 15 years as a physician. Warren grew up in Alabama attending public school. Afterward, he completed his B.S. in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and, after working as a mechanical engineer for 5 years, obtained a M.S. degree in Public Policy and a law degree, both from Georgetown University. Since then, he has practiced law with the U.S. Department of Justice and in private practice. Rani and Warren and their family attend Blacksburg Christian Fellowship.
Kyle has his B.S. and M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Washington State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. He is an associate professor at Virginia Tech and is involved in research and teaching in the areas of environmental hydraulics and sediment transport in natural water systems such as rivers and estuaries. His wife Jody was homeschooled in elementary school and attended a collaborative-style school in middle and high school where she took five years of Latin. She attended Washington State University for a B.S. in Horticulture and owns a small floral design business. Before VCS, Jody classically homeschooled their four children both independently and as part of Trinity Classical School in Houston, TX. They are active members of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Danny and Meredith White
Danny has his B.S. in Finance from the University of South Carolina, his M.S. in Education from Virginia Tech, and is in the final year of his Ph.D. in International Development at Virginia Tech. He is an associate athletics director at Virginia Tech. Meredith has her B.A. in Spanish and her M.A. in PK-12 Foreign Language Education from Virginia Tech. She taught Spanish for nearly five years in public schools before having children and loves the field of education. She has worked part time teaching courses on language learning and pedagogy at Virginia Tech as well as Spanish classes out of her home for preschool-aged and older homeschool students. Danny, Meredith, and their three children attend Blacksburg Christian Fellowship.
Justin and Jessica Yalung
Justin is from Virginia Beach and attended a private Christian school from K-12. He received his B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech, and today he serves as the Vice President of Finance at Inorganic Ventures, a developer and manufacturer of specialty chemical products located in the NRV. Jessica was raised in State College, PA then obtained her B.A. in Human Development from Virginia Tech and her M.A. in Teaching (Elementary Education) from N.C. State University. She taught second grade at a public school in Raleigh until having children and moving back to Blacksburg as a young family. Currently, Jessica is on staff in children's ministry at Northstar Church in Blacksburg where the family attends and are members.
Influences: Our board members have been influenced by the general Christian classical movement through their interactions with schools, friends, curriculum, and authors such as Susan Wise Bauer, Robert Littlejohn, Dorothy Sayers, and Douglas Wilson. Collectively they have been a part of three separate classical schools in different parts of the country. Of these different schools, they have been most influenced by Trinity Classical School in Houston TX.
