afternoon Recess Aide Position Description

        
                    Summary
                    The role of Afternoon Recess Aide is to supervise afternoon recess guided by the mission and values of Valley Classical School. Daily tasks may include (but are not limited to) preparing games and supplies for primarily outdoor recess, weather permitting; providing supervision for students in grades PreK through 4th during scheduled recess times; and participating in games and play as desired and as needed with students. Up to two classes of students may be expected at a time, totaling approximately 30 students. The expected hours for this position are Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:20pm-3:00pm.

                    Required qualifications
                    Must be 16 years of age or older and in agreement with and support of the school's statement of faith. Must also be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs, to engage in activities with children on the floor/ground, and to stoop and bend.
                
                    Additional desirable qualifications
                    First aid knowledge and/or training; able to be proactive about classroom or campus needs once understanding of school day has been established.
