Kindergarten Teacher Position Description

Summary The Kindergarten teacher role at Valley Classical School requires the individual to teach on campus, prepare lesson plans and upload them to the school’s lesson plan website, record grades, maintain orderly documentation for their grade, and interact with students' parents as needed (e.g., answering questions, clarifying assignments). The individual will be responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of language arts (phonics, early reading skills, and handwriting) and mathematics. Additional subjects include Bible, Literature, Poetry Memorization, and “World Discovery”, our literature-based exploratory program which encompasses literature, geography, history, science, poetry, art, and music, and. This position requires two full campus days (Mondays and Wednesdays), as well as any time needed to prepare weekly lesson plans and campus materials.

Start date Classes begin August 26, 2024. Training for incoming teachers will take place between August 6th and 9th.
Required qualifications Bachelor's degree; agreement with and support of the school's statement of faith; strong commitment to Christian education and the classical model of education
Additional desirable qualifications Teaching experience at a classical school; Teaching certification; advanced degree
