Lower School Choir Teacher Position Description

        
                    Summary
                    Valley Classical School is seeking a choir and music teacher who is responsible for teaching music education to students in grades PreK-4th. The individual will develop and execute lesson plans to help students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of instrumental and choral music through a variety of planned music experiences including singing, Solfege, moving to music, study of key musicians and a brief history of music. The instructor will also plan a balanced music program for each school semester and organize daily class time so preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within allotted time. This class consists of six 25-minute periods each week (three on Monday and three on Wednesday).

                    Start date
                    Classes begin August 26, 2024. Training for incoming teachers will take place between August 6th and 9th.
                
                    Required qualifications
                    Bachelor's degree; agreement with and support of the school's statement of faith; strong commitment to Christian education and the classical model of education
                
                    Additional desirable qualifications
                    Teaching experience at a classical school; Teaching certification; advanced degree
