Rhetoric School Latin Teacher Position Description (Upper Latin III)

        
                    Summary
                    This position would entail teaching an Upper Latin III class to 10th grade students. This course is intended to prepare students to begin reading original Latin texts. The class will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays mornings. Curriculum (Latin Alive! Book 3 by Classical Academic Press) and pacing are set by the school, and a basic blueprint is provided. Additional responsibilities would include any necessary class planning & preparation, writing and posting weekly lesson plans, grading, attending Upper School (Logic & Rhetoric) faculty/staff meetings or events, and helping out with any other tasks as requested.

                    Start date
                    Classes begin August 25, 2025. Training for incoming teachers will take place between August 5th and 7th.

                    Bachelor's degree; agreement with and support of the school's statement of faith; strong commitment to Christian education and the classical model of education

                    Teaching experience at a classical school; Teaching certification; advanced degree
