Rhetoric School Latin Teacher Position Description (Upper Latin IIa)

Summary This is a half-credit course equivalent to the first half of a second-year high school Latin course. It is also the standard course for 9th-graders who have already completed a rigorous course of Latin studies in middle school. It covers the first half of the Latin Alive! 2 textbook from Classical Academic Press. The book begins with extensive review of declensions, conjugations, etc. The chapters include edited readings from Latin authors and the course is structured to help students build the skills necessary to read original works later in their high school years. This class will meet once a week for 75 minutes on either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

Start date Classes begin August 26, 2024. Training for incoming teachers will take place between August 6th and 9th.
