Rhetoric School Science Teacher Position Description (biology)

        
                    Summary
                    This position would entail teaching a high school level biology class and leading associated labs for three 50-minute periods a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). The class will consist of students in 9th, 10th, & 11th grade. The curriculum and pacing are set by the school, and a basic syllabus for the class will be provided. Additional responsibilities would include any necessary class and lab planning & preparation, writing and posting weekly lesson plans, grading, attending Logic School faculty/staff meetings or events, and helping out with any other tasks as requested.

                    Since this is a part-time position, benefits such as health insurance or a retirement savings plan are not provided by the school.
                
                    Start date
                    Classes begin August 24, 2026. Training for incoming teachers will take place between August 4th and 6th.
                
                    Required qualifications
                    Bachelor's degree; agreement with and support of the school's statement of faith; strong commitment to Christian education and the classical model of education
                
                    Additional desirable qualifications
                    Teaching experience at a classical school; Teaching certification; advanced degree
