scholarships
VCS offers a limited number of need-based scholarships each academic year. Scholarships will be distributed in the form of a 25% reduction in tuition for families that qualify.
Scholarships are awarded each year based on family need, as determined by a Confidential Financial Analysis which is conducted by BeneFAQ, formerly Confidential Financial Services (CFS) of Littleton, CO.
The deadlines for having a scholarship application submitted and verified to BeneFAQ for the coming school year are as follows:

Important Facts
Awards may only be applied to future semesters
Applications could take up to six weeks to process. We advise completing the application and submitting requested documentation ASAP.
Scholarship awards are made on an annual basis. Families must reapply each year.
You will be responsible for the $35 fee this company collects to cover the cost of processing the form.
How to apply
To apply for tuition assistance for the upcoming school year, here is an outline of the steps you will need to fill out your confidential financial application through BeneFAQ. Follow the directions below.

Step 1: Navigate to www.benefaq.com.
Step 2: Select the “Parent Login” button from the upper right.
Step 3: Create an account if you do not already have one, entering all requested information and clicking “Register”. This will sign you in for the first time (returning users can sign in using the sign-in section on the left). -
Step 4: Click the “Apply” button.
Step 5: Enter the correct preliminary information:Application year
“Valley Classical School” or our school ID number (11135). Several schools have similar names, so please make sure you are selecting our school.
Your credit card information to pay the BeneFAQ application fee ($35). The charge will come through as SchoolRIGHT or BeneFAQ.
Step 6: Read all instructions on each page of the BeneFAQ application. The application is predominantly constructed in an “interview” style. Complete the application and DO NOT SKIP any questions.
Click “Save and Continue” at the bottom of each page to proceed to the next page.
If you exit and return later, simply find the next section you need to complete and continue from there.
If you have questions, click the Questions/Clarifications link on the upper right-hand side of the page and write your question. This will send a note to BeneFAQ and they will respond in as timely a manner as possible. In some cases, it may take up to 24 hours to receive a response. They are closed on weekends and holidays.
When they respond, you will receive an email indicating that a message awaits for you in your account. A number indicator will appear next to the Messages link on your dashboard showing that you have an unread message. Click “Messages” to see the message.

Step 7: At the end of the application, once you have reviewed your entries and click “Submit App & Proceed” you will be asked to upload specific information based on the way you completed your application.
Click the checkbox to upload that document. YOU CANNOT SELECT MORE THAN ONE FILE AT A TIME to upload. Please use the “Add” button under Pay Stubs to add additional pay stubs and the “Additional Documents” section to upload any other documents you desire or are requested.
If you are not able to upload your tax returns in one complete document, please use “Additional Documents” to add the pages.
If you need to send numerous single pages for some reason, please reach out to BeneFAQ and they will provide instructions to do so.
BeneFAQ will begin verifying your application once they begin receiving documents from you.
BeneFAQ will message you through the inline messaging system if they need further clarification on anything. Please use this system to respond to those inquiries. NOTE: Make sure benefaq.com emails are not going to your spam folder.

VCS uses information provided by BeneFAQ to determine eligibility. Wait for confirmation of your scholarship from VCS after BeneFAQ processes and verifies your application. In most cases, VCS sends notices regarding award status following the submission deadline for scholarship applications. This timeline may be adjusted during the Extended and Final Admissions Cycles.

Note: BeneFAQ asks all parents to communicate with them through their account application by either clicking “Messages” from their dashboard menu or the “Questions/Clarifications” link on any page of the application. BeneFAQ will use this method of contact when asking questions regarding the application; these questions may need to be addressed before the application can be marked as “complete”. Please make checking this part of your dashboard a regular occurrence when applying. From BeneFAQ:
“I see my application status is “Awaiting Docs/Info” but I have uploaded everything. What else do you need?” This is a very common question from parents and also schools wondering why it appears an applicant has uploaded everything but the status mentions otherwise. In almost every case, we [BeneFAQ] have sent the applicant a question through the inline messaging system and they have not yet replied. When a processer writes a message to an applicant, the system will send them an email mentioning that an important message from BeneFAQ awaits their attention and that they should log in to their account to review it. We cannot guarantee those emails will hit their inbox, but they should be aware that this is how we send our messages to them.
