Lower School choir Teacher Position Description (Pod A)

Summary Valley Classical School is seeking a choir and music teacher who is responsible for teaching music education to students in grades PreK-4th Grade. The individual will develop and execute lesson plans to help students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of instrumental and choral music through a variety of planned music experiences including singing, Solfege, moving to music, study of key musicians and a brief history of music. The instructor will also plan a balanced music program for each school semester and organize daily class time so preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within allotted time. This class consists of six 25-minute periods each week (three on Monday and three on Wednesday).

This Lower School Choir Pod A position may be combined with the Lower School Choir Pod B position only to create a more robust teaching position. Those interested in this combination are encouraged to make their desire known alongside the submission of their CV.

Additional desirable qualifications Teaching experience at a classical school; Teaching certification; advanced degree
